Director, Software Engineering (Platform)

Mission

Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data‑driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.

In a single, non‑invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.

Role Purpose

The Director of Software Engineering, Platform will lead the design, scaling, and reliability of Neko Health’s core infrastructure. This platform underpins health data, member data, and system reliability across clinics and internal product systems.

This role is mission‑critical: platform failures directly impact clinic operations and patient care. You will deliver an AI‑first platform that ensures absolute resilience and regional scale, enabling the rest of the organization to scale our impact 10X faster.

What You’ll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months

• Establish a scalable, secure infrastructure platform on Azure supporting health and member data
• Enable significantly faster product deployment cycles through platform improvements
• Increase system reliability and reduce operational incidents affecting clinics
• Build and scale a high‑performance platform engineering team (10–15 engineers initially)
• Define long‑term platform strategy in close partnership with Product and Data

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience building and scaling large‑scale infrastructure systems
• Experience building infrastructure as a platform (PaaS mindset) or SRE‑level systems
• Strong hands‑on engineering background; ability to code and design systems
• Experience scaling infrastructure across regions
• Experience using AI tooling platforms (Claude Code)
• Experience leading managers and scaling to multi‑team structures

Preferred Experience

• Deep experience with Microsoft stack (Azure, Cosmos DB, Docker)
• Experience supporting data platform infrastructure
• Experience in highly regulated or mission‑critical environments
• Exposure to AI platform development
