Static Service Engineer

Selecta is the largest provider of unattended self‑serve coffee and convenience food in Europe, leading the way in vending solutions and specialist coffee services. We are hiring a Static Service Engineer to join our Technical department and provide high quality service to all customers, while actively contributing to the overall improvements of the business by servicing and maintaining equipment to a high standard.

As a Service Engineer your goal is to limit the volume of equipment failure through correct service and maintenance, ensuring that the business receives zero client complaints regarding technical reliability for machines within your area of responsibility.

This is a full‑time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday). The role is based at a static site located just a 5‑minute walk from Liverpool Street Station. A company vehicle is not provided, as all work will be carried out on site. Stock and supplies will be available on site for servicing the machines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on a complete range of vending equipment.
• Ensure that as many jobs as possible are completed on the first visit, and if a return visit is necessary, that it is carried out at the soonest opportunity.
• Continuously review multiple‑fault equipment and prioritize machines that display persistent breakdowns.
• Maintain access to technical manuals/documentation relevant to the equipment you are servicing/maintaining.
• Attend various training courses to maintain the highest standard of workmanship.
• Maintain good customer relations by adopting a pleasant manner at all times and adhering to customer procedures and health & safety policies where appropriate.
• Be aware of potential customer dissatisfaction and take appropriate action (repair machine, seek assistance from senior engineers/service managers) to avoid complaints turning into dissatisfaction.

Requirements

• Maintain a close working relationship with colleagues and clients to provide the best possible service.
• Work on your own initiative.
• Be customer‑focused with a smart and professional appearance.
• Possess strong electrical knowledge/experience, demonstrated through practical work experience or an electrical qualification.
• Have a technical background with strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Work safely on electrical equipment.
