Salary: Up to 40,000 DOE + Overtime at 1.5x

Location: Alfreton
Shift: Days

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business at its production facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer to join a busy industrial environment, playing a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose faults and respond to breakdowns efficiently.
• Undertake mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with PLC fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Install, commission and test new equipment where required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Support root cause analysis of recurring faults.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and maintain high housekeeping standards.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in FMCG or process manufacturing would be advantageous.
• Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• PLC fault-finding experience.
• Relevant engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• 18th Edition qualification would be advantageous.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary up to 40,000 , dependent on experience.
• Overtime paid at 1.5x .
• 20 days' annual holiday, plus bank holidays where applicable.
• Company pension.
