I’m currently working with a well-established civil engineering consultancy based in Sevenoaks that is looking to expand its team with the appointment of a Civil Design Engineer.

The Role

As a Civil Design Engineer, you’ll be involved in a varied portfolio of infrastructure and development projects, with responsibilities including:

• Designing highways and infrastructure layouts for residential and commercial developments.
• Preparing and delivering Section 278 (S278) highway designs .
• Designing sustainable drainage systems (SuDS ) and surface water drainage solutions.
• Producing foul and surface water drainage strategies and detailed designs.
• Undertaking highway design, including levels, road geometry and associated infrastructure.
• Preparing technical drawings, calculations and design reports.
• Liaising with clients, local authorities and other design disciplines to deliver projects successfully.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in civil engineering design, ideally within a consultancy environment.
• A background in highways, drainage and infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of S278 agreements, SuDS and drainage design.
• Familiarity with relevant design standards and approval processes.
• Proficiency in industry design software, such as AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• A proactive approach, strong communication skills and a desire to develop professionally.
