Commercial Solicitor (NQ to Tenured)

Join a fast-growing, innovative legal team in an in-house environment offering unmatched case variety, early autonomy, and clear paths for professional growth.

• Location: Manchester City Centre (5 days on-site)
• Salary: Up to 55,000 + benefits (Dependent on Experience)
• Experience Level: Open to Newly Qualified (NQ) or Tenured/Experienced Solicitors

Portfolio Group is proud to represent a modern, commercially focused, service-led law firm in their search for a bright and confident Commercial Solicitor . Driven by rapid expansion and the rollout of new legal products, this is a unique dual-track role tailored to your level of experience.

• Are you Newly Qualified (NQ)? Fast-track your development with a supportive team, a hunger to learn, and immediate, structured ownership of your own caseload.
• Are you an Experienced Solicitor? Bring your tenured background to a fast-paced corporate environment with the latitude to lead complex legal matters across the Group.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

You will manage a broad, intellectually stimulating caseload encompassing commercial, corporate, civil, and employment law.

• Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Complete the preparation and conduct of County Court litigation and general dispute resolution.
• Corporate & Commercial: Provide pragmatic, commercial legal advice and support potential Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
• Regulatory & Compliance: Oversee regulatory investigations, interviews under caution, inquests, and prosecutions arising from workplace incidents.
• Employment Law: Handle non-contentious employment law issues and manage Employment Tribunal cases (an active specialism here is highly desirable but not essential).
• In-House Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to companies and associated businesses across the wider corporate Group.

What You Bring to the Team

• Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a valid practicing certificate.
• Practice Range: Proven experience across a mix of commercial, corporate, civil, or employment law practice areas (gained within a leading law firm or in-house team).
• Mindset: A positive approach to managing a busy caseload, a passion for problem-solving, and a keen eye for business development.
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the confidence to provide sharp, commercial, and pragmatic advice to senior stakeholders across the Group.

Why Join Our Team?

• True Autonomy: Assume significant responsibility from day one, stepping away from micro-management into an environment built on trust.
• Guaranteed Development: Whether NQ or tenured, you will broaden your cross-disciplinary knowledge across a dynamic corporate landscape.
• Exciting Growth: Be part of a brand-new, service-led firm that is actively shaking up traditional legal models with new product launches.
