The Opportunity

Strata Construction Consulting is recruiting for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join an established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy on a contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging infrastructure projects, initially supporting the Power and Energy sector , with potential involvement in Nuclear and Defence projects.

We are particularly interested in experienced Civil Engineers who can hit the ground running, take ownership of design packages and deliver work independently.

This is a broad civil engineering design role, rather than a position focused exclusively on drainage.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering design packages across a range of infrastructure projects.
• Design drainage systems, earthworks, hardstandings, pavements, external works and associated infrastructure.
• Undertake site levels design, grading and earthworks coordination.
• Design and coordinate utilities, underground services, ducts and road interfaces.
• Support civil engineering design associated with substations and power infrastructure.
• Coordinate technical information across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Produce designs using Civil 3D and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
• Take responsibility for defined work packages, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior Civil Engineer within an engineering consultancy or similar design environment.
• Strong technical background in civil infrastructure design beyond drainage alone .
• Experience in drainage, earthworks, pavement design, external works and levels.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage .
• Understanding of underground utilities, ducting and 3D services coordination.
• Ability to manage and deliver design packages independently.
• Experience coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
• Relevant Civil Engineering degree or qualification.

Desirable Experience

• Previous involvement in Power, Energy, Substation or Utilities infrastructure projects.
• Experience working on complex multidisciplinary engineering schemes.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with ICE.
• Experience within Nuclear, Defence or other regulated sectors.

Security Clearance Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance or assurance level.

Basic clearance or assurance will be required for the initial Power sector work. Security Check (SC) clearance will be required for any Nuclear or Defence projects.

Additional nationality or residency requirements may apply depending on the project.
