Civil Section Engineer - Water

Location: Leicester
Rate: 300-400 per day
Duration: 6 months
Type: Contract / Site-based

A leading organisation is looking for an experienced Section Engineer with a strong civil engineering and water-sector background to support a major water project in Leicester.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor , providing technical guidance, engineering advice and support to the site team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering advice and technical support to the site team.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and QS throughout the project.
• Advise on construction methodology, engineering issues and site delivery.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Support the resolution of technical queries and site issues.
• Monitor engineering quality and ensure works are delivered to specification.
• Liaise with designers, subcontractors and site management.
• Provide guidance and technical input across the project.

Requirements

• Civil Engineering qualification/background - essential
• Previous water-sector experience - essential
• Experience working as a Section Engineer / Site Engineer on water projects.
• Strong understanding of civil construction and site delivery.
• Comfortable providing technical advice and consulting with site teams.
• Able to work closely with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
