Setting Out Engineer

The Opportunity

I’m currently working with a leading main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Setting out Engineer to join a major high-rise residential development in the Wembley area .

The successful candidate will take ownership of the reinforced concrete (RC) package , working closely with the Project Manager, Site Management and wider engineering team to ensure the works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the RC frame package from setting out through to completion.
• Manage all engineering and setting-out requirements associated with the RC works.
• Review construction drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Undertake accurate setting out and surveying using relevant equipment.
• Monitor works against drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate with the RC subcontractor and wider site team.
• Manage inspections, quality assurance and as-built information.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and raise RFIs where required.
• Work closely with the Design Manager and Project Manager on technical matters.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with health & safety and quality requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Site Managers and subcontractors.
• Assist with coordination between the RC structure and following trades/packages.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Strong reinforced concrete / RC frame experience .
• Experience working on high-rise residential or major residential developments .
• Strong setting-out and surveying capabilities.
• Good understanding of structural drawings and construction methodology.
• Experience managing or coordinating RC subcontractors.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Relevant construction qualifications.
• CSCS and appropriate engineering/site qualifications.
