AI Engineer

AI Engineer

London (Hybrid, 1 Day per Week Onsite)

Are you ready to help build the future of AI from the ground up?

Our client isn't buying off-the-shelf solutions or stitching together existing products. They're building a proprietary AI platform from first principles, creating intelligent systems capable of reasoning, planning, and acting autonomously across complex business environments.

We're looking for a highly skilled AI Engineer to join a growing London-based team and play a key role in designing and developing cutting-edge agentic AI systems that will power the next generation of enterprise automation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and developing agentic AI systems capable of autonomous decision-making and task execution.
• Building sophisticated LLM-powered applications, orchestration frameworks, memory architectures, and tool-use capabilities.
• Developing custom AI workflows using large language models, retrieval systems, and multi-agent architectures.
• Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to embed AI into real-world business processes.
• Contributing to the architecture and evolution of a proprietary AI platform in a truly greenfield environment.
• Evaluating emerging AI technologies and helping shape technical direction and best practices.

What We're Looking For

• Commercial experience designing and building AI, machine learning, or generative AI applications.
• Strong Python engineering skills and experience developing production-grade software.
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, and Azure Machine Learning.
• Knowledge of modern AI frameworks including LangChain, Hugging Face, PyTorch, or similar technologies.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, prompt engineering, agentic AI, and multi-agent systems.
• Experience deploying, monitoring, and optimising AI solutions in production environments.
• A builder's mindset with a passion for solving complex technical challenges from first principles.
• Ability to commute to a London office once per week.

Desirable Experience

• AI orchestration and workflow frameworks.
• Knowledge graph or semantic search technologies.
• Model fine-tuning and evaluation.
• MLOps, CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud-native deployment practices.
• Experience developing autonomous agents and reasoning systems.

Why Join?

• Join a high-calibre team building a genuinely differentiated AI platform.
• Work on some of the most challenging and innovative problems in modern AI.
• Influence architecture, product direction, and technical strategy from an early stage.
• Enjoy significant ownership, autonomy, and creative freedom.
• Competitive salary, equity participation, and comprehensive benefits.
• Hybrid working with a collaborative London-based team.

If you're excited by agentic AI, autonomous systems, and building something entirely from scratch, we'd love to hear from you. Apply Now to Avoid Disappointment!
