Sell engineering solutions that solve expensive problems.

We're looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to develop a well-established territory across the West of England and Wales, selling specialist engineering, repair and asset-protection solutions into heavy industry.

This isn't catalogue selling.

You'll work with engineers, maintenance teams, consultants and procurement professionals to understand problems with industrial plant and equipment, develop the right technical and commercial solution, and turn opportunities into long-term business.

The role

You'll take ownership of a large territory, combining new business development with growth of existing accounts .

You'll:

• Identify and win new industrial customers
• Develop existing accounts and uncover new opportunities
• Visit customer sites to understand engineering and maintenance requirements
• Work with technical teams to develop commercially viable solutions
• Produce proposals and progress opportunities through sometimes complex sales cycles
• Build relationships with engineering, maintenance, procurement and senior decision-makers
• Manage your own territory, diary and pipeline

Customers will typically operate within power generation, energy, process manufacturing, petrochemical, waste-to-energy and other heavy industrial environments .

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in people who have sold engineering services or technically led solutions into industrial customers .

Your background could include:

• Engineering repair and maintenance services
• Industrial coatings or corrosion protection
• Pumps, valves, tanks or pipework
• Rotating or process equipment
• Industrial maintenance solutions
• Asset integrity / asset protection
• Other technically led engineering services

You don't necessarily need coatings experience.

You do need to understand how engineering-led sales work, be comfortable discussing technical problems with customers and have a proven record of converting opportunities into orders.

Just as importantly, you'll be able to demonstrate sustained success developing a territory and building long-term customer relationships .

circa 50,000 basic salary depending on experience, plus:

The territory is substantial, so there will be regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
