Field Service Engineer

Astute's Nuclear Team is partnering with a great machine tools manufacturing company to recruit a Field Service Engineer based in Brighouse.

Responsibilities and duties of the Field Service Engineer role
Within the role you will:

• Install, service and maintain large CNC and manual machine tools at customer sites across the UK
• Carry out mechanical fitting, fault diagnosis and repair work on milling and machine tool equipment
• Perform machine tool alignment and precision adjustments to ensure optimal performance
• Conduct gearbox and machining head assembly, including correct setting of bevel gear meshing
• Carry out hand scraping for geometrical adjustment where required
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and implement effective repairs
• Ensure all work complies with company health and safety standards
• Represent the company professionally while working on customer sites
• Identify potential opportunities for additional service work, spare parts, or service contracts

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
* NVQ or higher qualification in an engineering discipline (preferred)
* Proven experience working on large CNC and manual milling machinery
* Strong mechanical fitting and machine tool fault diagnosis skills
* Experience with machine tool alignment and precision engineering techniques
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams
* Basic electrical and hydraulic fault-finding knowledge
* Good computing skills including Microsoft Office
* Full UK driving licence (clean preferred)
