Veritas Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded 1.5 entry Primary School in Chorley, Lancashire , seeking an experienced, creative, and passionate Reception Teacher for a maternity cover position starting October 2026 .

• Contract: Full-time, maternity cover
• Pay: 160 - 240 per day (dependent on experience and pay scale)
• Ofsted Rating: 'Good'

The Role

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Reception class, delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework .

You will be expected to:

• Plan, prepare and deliver creative, play-based learning opportunities across all areas of the EYFS curriculum
• Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
• Track, assess, and monitor pupil progress using EYFS assessment frameworks
• Differentiate provision effectively to meet a wide range of abilities and developmental needs
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support each child's learning journey
• Contribute to the wider Early Years team and actively engage in school life

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have recent and relevant experience teaching within Early Years / Reception
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum
• Be confident in delivering phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters & Sounds or similar)
• Have excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
• Be creative, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality early education
• Be a positive team player with a proactive attitude
