Frontier Banking Industry Advisor - EMEA

Overview

In this role you help Microsoft’s banking customers define and drive AI-powered transformation at enterprise scale. You’ll work with executive leaders to translate business outcomes into technology opportunities across cloud, data, AI, security, and partner capabilities. You’ll move banks from pilots to production-grade Frontier AI solutions, delivering growth, risk reduction, and improved customer experiences. You will shape Microsoft’s frontier banking practice through thought leadership and strategic planning with account teams. This is a mission-driven, cross-functional, executive-facing role at the forefront of banking modernization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the banking industry subject matter specialist in digital and AI transformation and account planning
• Identify and nurture industry-led business opportunities across the banking value chain
• Lead multi-horizon, segment-focused roadmaps for strategic accounts
• Develop and maintain relationships with senior banking executives and partners
• Champion Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) opportunities and coordinate with delivery teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, orchestrate, and execute customer opportunities
• Advise on industry trends, regulatory considerations, and competition to guide pursuit and solution design
• Move customers from pilots to enterprise-ready AI transformations with governance, security, and change management

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and substantial customer-facing experience in financial services or consulting OR Master’s degree with relevant experience
• Extensive experience in consultative sales, advisory, transformation, or technology leadership in banking
• Strong knowledge of banking domains (retail, commercial, payments, lending, risk, compliance, core modernization) and cloud/AI capabilities
• Experience engaging with senior decision makers and driving cross-team collaboration
• Familiarity with European regulatory environment (EU AI Act, GDPR, DORA, PSD2, Basel, MiFID II) and regional regulators
