Sous Chef

Ambitious Sous Chef wanted for a varied Cheltenham hospitality role £32-35k + excellent benefits and genuine career development.
Our client, a well-established organisation within the hospitality, leisure and events sector, based in Cheltenham, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis as part of their growing Food & Beverage operation.
Working across a variety of unique venues, this is a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef who enjoys variety and wants to be part of an operation delivering everything from busy cafés and visitor dining through to weddings, banquets and large-scale events for up to 400 guests.
The successful Sous Chef should have:
·Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie looking to progress
·Excellent cooking skills with a genuine passion for producing high-quality food
·Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management, ideally with Level 2 Food Safety
·Experience of stock control, food costing and reducing waste
·The ability to lead, motivate and support the development of a busy kitchen team
·A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across different venues
In this role, the Sous Chef will be responsible for:
·Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen operation
·Leading and motivating the kitchen team while maintaining consistently high standards
·Assisting with menu development and delivering high-quality food across cafés, functions and large-scale events
·Managing stock, food costs and waste to support an efficient and commercially focused kitchen
·Ensuring excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen standards are always maintained
Our client is offering the successful Sous Chef a salary in the region of £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus 28 days' holiday per year inclusive of Bank Holidays and subsidised gym membership for just £10 per year.
The role is based on 40 hours per week over a 5-day working week, on a rolling rota which includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. A six-month probationary period applies.
