As a field-based Commissioning Engineer, you will deliver BMS and control system projects across the Midlands, supported by a Birmingham team. You’ll configure software strategies, perform wiring checks, and lead plant start-ups, ensuring systems are commissioned to high standards. You will troubleshoot with cross-functional teams and provide technical support to other trades. This role combines hands-on field work with software and graphics development, supporting SSE’s zero-carbon mission.

Responsibilities
Commission the installation of BMS and control systems per project plans
Compose software strategies and graphics for projects
Perform physical wiring checks and plant start-ups
Troubleshoot system defects and diagnose issues
Provide technical support to other trades and subcontractors
Maintain clear communication and reporting with project stakeholders
Key requirements
Experience commissioning BMS and control systems, especially Siemens PX and Trend IQ4
Strong communication and reporting skills
Experience crafting software strategies and graphics
