Overview

In this hands-on role, you will design and build automation platforms and APIs to deploy and manage enterprise networks at scale. You’ll combine networking expertise with software engineering to automate infrastructure and operational workflows, shaping automation strategy and standards. As a senior team member, you’ll lead architecture choices, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, resilient network services. This role offers the chance to impact global network automation at an enterprise level.

Responsibilities

Design and develop automation solutions for enterprise network provisioning, configuration management and lifecycle operations
Build and maintain Python-based services, APIs and microservices to support network service delivery and workflows
Develop reusable automation frameworks and templates for consistent deployment at scale
Integrate automation with network controllers, orchestration platforms and management systems
Design and implement automation workflows across routing, switching and data centre environments
Develop high-quality Python applications with modern software practices
Produce clean, testable, well-documented code and lead peer code reviews
Design REST APIs and service integrations enabling self-service infrastructure and automation
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, validation and deployment
Implement automated testing frameworks and expand service test coverage
Manage application deployment across dev, QA, staging and production environments
Leverage Infrastructure as Code for consistency across environments
Improve observability, reliability and operational efficiency through automation
Act as a technical authority for network automation and software engineering initiatives
Drive architectural decisions on automation platforms and orchestration tooling
Mentor engineers in Python, automation frameworks and networking tech
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate network requirements into scalable solutions
Champion engineering best practices and continuous improvement

Key requirements

Extensive experience in developing network automation solutions in large-scale enterprise environments
Strong software engineering background with Python development expertise
Experience delivering automation platforms for production infrastructure
Cross-disciplinary experience in networking and software engineering
Experience designing, building and operating scalable API-driven services
