Associate Legal Counsel

Overview

As Corporate/Associate Legal Counsel for Google’s EMEA Ads team, you will draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements supporting Google’s Ads, Analytics, and Commerce businesses across EMEA. You’ll advise on complex structuring, regulatory risk, and policy compliance, partnering with sales, product, and Global Affairs to scale products and initiatives. You will translate UK/European laws and GDPR into practical, scalable contracts and guidance, driving process improvements and self-service tools. You tackle challenging legal problems at the intersection of ad tech and regulation, shaping solutions for growth at scale.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements for Google’s Ads, Analytics, and Commerce across EMEA
• Advise on complex contract structures and commercial risks
• Translate UK/European regulations (GDPR, ePrivacy, competition) into practical contracting solutions
• Design scalable contracting processes, playbooks, and self-service guidance
• Collaborate with sales, product, and Global Affairs to support regional launches and initiatives
• Provide legal advice on data protection/privacy and IT/technology law in a digital advertising context

Key requirements

• JD, LL.B., or equivalent practical experience
• Qualified solicitor in the UK
• 3 years of legal experience in private practice or in-house in the UK
• Experience in contract, commercial, IP, IT/technology law and advising on data protection and privacy (GDPR; ePrivacy)
