DevOps Engineer

Overview

In this role you will help build and promote the bank's DevOps capability and culture. You will mentor platform teams, identify gaps, and run learning workshops to raise end-to-end delivery performance. You’ll measure value delivery through DevOps practices and advise on suitable capability upskills. You’ll base decisions on data and ROI to support cost-effective, long-term value. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role focused on transformation through people, processes and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Mentor feature and platform teams to higher DevOps capability and drive continuous improvements
• Assess current DevOps capability, identify gaps, and run learning workshops and training
• Demonstrate measurement and visualization of value delivery through DevOps tools and processes
• Advise platform and CoE teams on appropriate DevOps capability uplifts
• Provide feedback to improve policies, standards, practices and tooling
• Support data-driven decision making with ROI and cost management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud and live workflows
• Support migration of services from private cloud to public cloud

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in Software Development, CI/CD pipelines and automation scripting
• Proficiency with Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes
• AWS hosting and services knowledge
• Programming languages experience, preferably Java Spring Boot
• Experience containerising Java applications for Amazon EKS
• CI/CD and GitOps experience, preferably GitLab and ArgoCD
• Automation scripting in Python and Bash
• Experience with Observability tooling (Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, Prometheus)
