Overview

In this role you will lead the operational delivery of landlord compliance (excluding fire safety) across around 8,000 HRA homes. You will manage a team of specialist compliance professionals to ensure inspections, servicing, remedial works and certification meet statutory requirements and timescales. You will drive performance, strengthen contractor management and improve data, systems and reporting across all compliance areas. You will contribute to the council’s compliance assurance framework and regulatory obligations while maintaining safe, compliant homes for residents. This is a hands-on operational leadership role with a strong focus on outcomes and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Oversee landlord statutory compliance (gas safety, electrical safety, water hygiene, asbestos management, lifts and LOLER)
Lead and develop a team of compliance officers and managers
Ensure inspections, servicing, remedial works and certification are delivered on time and within statutory requirements
Strengthen contractor management and performance
Improve data, systems and reporting across all compliance areas
Support the wider compliance assurance framework and regulatory obligations

Key requirements

Experience delivering landlord statutory compliance in housing (gas, electrical, water safety, asbestos, lifts/LOLER)
Line management and leadership of compliance teams
Strong contractor management and performance improvement skills
Data, systems and reporting capabilities for compliance
Knowledge of regulatory obligations and statutory timescales
