Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

In this Senior Civil Engineer role, you’ll lead drainage and infrastructure design for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You’ll stay hands-on with design while managing projects and mentoring junior engineers, and you’ll collaborate with senior leadership to drive the team forward. The position combines design delivery with client and stakeholder liaison to shape Liverpool’s development capability. You’ll work in a supportive, structured environment that offers progression and ownership from day one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highways and drainage designs (S38, S278, S104, S185)
• Lead projects from feasibility to technical approval
• Prepare designs and technical reports using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfoDrainage
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
• Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians

Key requirements

• Proven UK consultancy experience as a Senior Civil Engineer
• Strong background in drainage and development infrastructure design
• Confident in managing projects and client relationships
• Hands-on, practical approach to technical delivery
