Senior Pharmacist - Education & Training

Overview

In this role you lead pharmacy education and workforce development to build a skilled, confident team. You will coordinate Foundation Year Pharmacist training and postgraduate education, shaping competency and governance frameworks. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, universities, and regional partners to spread learning across the Trust. You will maintain advanced clinical practice while supporting service delivery across ward, dispensary, and on-call duties. This position offers an opportunity to drive education strategy within an ambitious NHS Trust.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate pharmacy education and training programmes across the Trust
• Lead the Foundation Year Pharmacist programme and postgraduate education initiatives
• Deputise for the Lead Pharmacist - Workforce Development in strategy delivery
• Develop and implement education and training strategy aligned with Trust, ICS and national priorities
• Interpret regulatory and educational standards and apply them locally
• Coordinate multi-professional education and collaborate with internal and external partners
• Support clinical service delivery with specialist knowledge and governance
• Advise on competency frameworks and governance for education and workforce development

Key requirements

• MPharm and GPhC registration as a Pharmacist
• Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent level experience
• Independent Prescribing Qualification or working towards within 12 months
• Evidence of CPD and lifelong learning for revalidation

• Highly effective communication across levels and formats
• Leadership and team motivation
• Adaptability to changing departmental needs
• Experience in creating and delivering training packages to multidisciplinary groups
• Quality improvement or audit activities to enhance service delivery
• Interpretation of regulatory and professional standards for education
