Senior HR Business Partner (Industrial Relations)

Overview

As Senior HR Business Partner for Industrial Relations, you will lead union relations, collective bargaining, and employee relations within TUI Airways, guiding cross-border HR initiatives. You’ll partner with local management to shape IR strategy, ensure compliant handling of matters, and drive transformational change in a global aviation context. This role combines negotiation leadership with advisory support to enable sustainable business decisions. You’ll work closely with unions and management to implement outcomes and share best practices across the group.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain effective union and works council relationships
• Lead collective bargaining processes and implement negotiated outcomes locally
• Advise local management on strategic IR and HR decisions
• Negotiate and monitor collective agreements and related policies
• Lead change initiatives including cross-border projects with proper consultation
• Share insights and best practices with the wider HR/IR community across TUI Airline

Key requirements

• Several years of experience in an Industrial Relations role
• Proven experience in collective bargaining and negotiations
• Significant experience in unionized environments
• Previous experience in aviation or a comparable industry
• Solid knowledge of local labour law and HR best practices
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to build credibility and trust with unions and management
• Exceptional negotiating and influencing skills
• Structured, pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
• Analytical thinking and sound judgement
