Overview

In this role you lead delivery of civil and bridge projects, ensuring quality on time and within budget. Responsibilities

Bridge design and management for UK and overseas projects
Bridge strengthening, repair, inspections and assessments
General civil/structural engineering support to other teams
Feasibility studies and options appraisals
Preparation of documents, reports, safety risk assessments, scheme designs, drawings, and cost estimates
Preparation of fee estimates
Supervision of junior team members and CAD temps

Key requirements

Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (anticipated)
Practical knowledge of bridge design, maintenance and assessment
Project management experience on bridge projects
Experience with design, maintenance and supervision of structures; innovation in design and management of bridges and civil structures
Knowledge of DMRB and MCDHW in relation to structural schemes
Understanding and application of Eurocodes in bridge design
Experience in steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge structures
Experience with grillage, space frame and finite element tools (LUSAS, Superstress, SAM)
Strong communication and client handling skills, adaptable to new challenges
