As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build cloud-native capabilities to support researchers through the publication and peer-review journey. You will work within the NPRE team to evolve our next-generation product, aligning with researchers’ needs and a dynamic tech landscape that includes AI. You’ll shape architecture, deliver in a cloud-hosted distributed system, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the delivery process. Responsibilities
Design, develop and deploy cloud-hosted applications for the next-generation product
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements in a fast-moving environment
Contribute to architectural decisions to ensure stability and performance
Identify and implement delivery improvements to accelerate value
Partner with cross-functional Agile and DevOps teams
Key requirements
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, frontend framework, Java/SpringBoot, and SQL with willingness to learn others
Experience with build tools, Git and continuous integration
Experience mentoring teammates and sharing knowledge
Experience with alerting, monitoring and logging tools
Familiarity with modern IDEs and refactoring tools
Experience with test-driven development and mocking libraries
Real-world Agile practices and execution
Capability in designing and developing for cloud environments
Familiarity with AI coding tools and cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
Some exposure to DevOps and Infrastructure as Code
