Overview

In this role you will strengthen Wheely’s Mapping team by delivering performant Go services that power road matching and low-latency ETAs. You will collaborate with product, design, and data science to translate requirements into robust microservices while migrating away from legacy systems. You will ensure responsiveness under heavy load and contribute to scalable, reliable spatial intelligent features that underpin a premium rider experience. Responsibilities

• Write high-quality, performant Go code for new microservices
• Migrate away from legacy services while building scalable backend components
• Collaborate with product, design and data science to translate requirements into designs
• Ensure systems stay responsive under heavy load, optimizing latency and reliability

Key requirements

• 3+ years building scalable backend services (5+ for seniors)
• Proficiency in Go; strong fundamentals acceptable in other languages
• Relational and NoSQL databases experience (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
• Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ or Kafka)
• Hands-on mapping/geospatial experience (map-matching, routing algorithms)
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2) with ability to discuss trade-offs
