As an Acoustic Engineer, you will support building acoustics performance and regulatory compliance across commercial projects. You’ll conduct on-site testing, measurements, and data analysis to ensure high acoustic quality. You will work with clients, contractors, and design teams to develop practical noise control solutions and deliver clear technical reports. Responsibilities
Conduct sound insulation testing in line with standards such as Approved Document E
Perform air tightness testing per Building Regulations
Carry out acoustic measurements, site surveys, and data analysis
Provide technical input on building acoustic design and noise control strategies
Prepare clear, detailed technical reports for stakeholders
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and design teams to deliver acoustic solutions
On-site testing to ensure regulatory compliance and performance
Travel to project sites as needed
Key requirements
A degree in a relevant subject area
IOA membership
Experience in acoustic and air tightness testing
Understanding of UK Building Regulations related to acoustics
