Overview

In this fully remote role, you will support accurate financial records and efficient claims and reinsurance operations within a forward-thinking insurance team. You will work closely with the finance function to process transactions, manage cash flows, and prepare essential financial reports that support day-to-day operations and compliance. You will contribute to claims processing, settlements, and broker/reinsurer liaison while expanding your expertise in insurance finance. This is an hands-on, detail-oriented position that values collaboration and timely delivery at scale. You will be part of a culture that prioritizes agility, growth, and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

Claims Processing & Operations: process payments and recoveries, issue remittances, monitor performance and handle related queries
Cashbook & Banking: post and reconcile weekly bank transactions, manage GBP/USD accounts, produce monthly cash flow reports
Reinsurance & Broker Liaison: prepare quarterly reinsurer statements, track outstanding balances, respond to queries
Accruals, Prepayments & Expenses: post monthly journal entries, maintain schedules, allocate expenses
Financial Reporting & Record Keeping: support month-end close, update asset registers, prepare financial statements
Additional Tasks: assist with tax/compliance, respond to supplier inquiries, support ad hoc finance projects

Key requirements

AAT qualified/part-qualified, or working towards ACCA/ACA, or strong relevant experience
Experience in transactional or assistant accounting roles within financial services or insurance
Proficiency with cashbook management, bank reconciliations, and payment processing
Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines
Knowledge of insurance expenses, claims processing, and broker/reinsurer relationships
