Senior Cost Engineer

Overview

In this Senior Cost Engineer role you support complex, lifecycle-spanning cost engineering for LCМ 4 projects across bids and delivery. You will develop estimates, BoE documentation, and cost/risk analyses, while maintaining cost engineering tools and providing specialist guidance. You’ll collaborate with project teams to drive best-practice cost engineering across programmes, ensuring robust decision support. The role combines technical cost analysis with governance, assurance, and cost control to enable successful, cost-aware programmes. Responsibilities

• Drive cost engineering best practices across bids, projects and programmes
• Develop and maintain high-quality estimates and basis of estimate using diverse methods
• Produce cost engineering reports to support decision making
• Provide recommendations and guidance on cost engineering approaches to project teams
• Lead and guide very complex (LCM 4) projects in implementing cost solutions
• Develop and implement Cost Assessment and Analysis models (e.g., QCRA) and interpret results

Key requirements

• Deep knowledge and experience in cost engineering across full project lifecycles
• In-depth use of quantitative analysis techniques
• Understanding of project management, governance, assurance, and cost control practices
• Commercial and financial awareness in project environments (desirable)
