IT Infrastructure & Security Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead infrastructure and security projects within a Microsoft-centric environment, modernising the tech estate and strengthening resilience. You’ll work in a small, collaborative internal tech team with autonomy to shape technical decisions and deliver measurable improvements. The role combines hands-on delivery with IT governance, Pragmatically balancing infrastructure and security work to support the wider business. Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure implementation and improvement projects
• Manage and enhance Microsoft Azure and on-premise infrastructure
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy and virtualised environments
• Drive server lifecycle management and platform optimisation
• Deliver security improvements including AD reviews and GP hardening
• Support Cyber Essentials compliance and embed security best practice
• Identify opportunities to optimise Azure consumption and reduce cloud costs
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and follow ITIL-aligned processes
• Support occasional out-of-hours releases and join a future on-call rota
