CPU Verification Engineer

Overview

In this role you will validate CPU and SoC microarchitectures, owning verification areas and ensuring features are fully verified and integration-ready for world-class products. You will collaborate with CPU and SoC architects to translate architectural intent into robust test plans and scalable verification methodologies. You will build and maintain verification environments, execute DV bring-up and complex debugging, and drive feature validation. You will join a flagship Cambridge design centre to contribute to next-generation CPUs, GPUs, and connected devices that power millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects to understand architectural intent and system-level requirements
• Develop verification and coverage plans from architecture specifications
• Define scalable, reusable verification methodologies across environments
• Build verification environments with stimulus generators, assertions, checkers, trackers, and coverage models
• Create and maintain testbenches for key functional domains
• Lead verification execution including DV bring-up, regressions, feature validation, and debugging activities

Key requirements

• Strong background in microprocessor verification and processor architecture
• Experience with Random Instruction Sequencing (RIS) and verification at block, subsystem, and chip levels
• Deep understanding of processor functionality and microarchitectures
• Expertise in developing portable testbenches, transactors, test plans, and assembly-level tests
• Must have CPU experience
