Structural Engineer

Overview

In this role you will contribute to the structural design of multidisciplinary projects within Arup's PS&I team in Leeds. You will work on challenging, material projects from concept through delivery, collaborating with professionals across disciplines. You will develop and review designs, communicate through sketches, drawings, and presentations, andsupport continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Support structural engineering design on projects, taking responsibility for discrete work packages
• Communicate designs and ideas through sketches, drawings, presentations, and written reports
• Review own work and provide constructive feedback to the team
• Adhere to priorities and deadlines within a multidisciplinary design context
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams across Arup and contribute to digital workflows
• Mentor or assist less experienced team members as needed

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Working toward Chartership status (IStructE, ICE, or equivalent) or Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship
• Developing understanding of engineering principles and design software
• Developing experience with Eurocode or equivalent
• Initiative and proactive problem solving
• Good understanding of digital workflows
• Interest in low- and zero-carbon design
