Overview

In this role you will plan, prepare and deliver system-level proving activities for a leading defence organisation. You will collaborate with systems and design engineering teams to ensure integrated, tested and validated systems. You will manage trials across laboratory, ground, harbour, sea and firing environments, analyse results and drive issue resolution. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position with exposure to international work, focused on ensuring safety, configuration control and robust system validation.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate system trials with systems and design engineering teams
Develop trial plans, procedures and supporting technical documentation
Capture trial data to support assessment and identify design issues
Investigate and resolve technical issues from proving activities
Prepare for and participate in Trials Readiness Reviews
Analyse trial results and produce post-trial reports and findings
Support various proving activities (lab functional tests, ground, harbour/sea, firing trials)
Manage engineering laboratories including risk assessments, asset management, safety and audits
Maintain hardware/software configuration control
Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, partners and external stakeholders

Key requirements

British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship
Experience planning and executing system trials
Familiarity with risk assessments and safety considerations in engineering labs
Willingness to travel (UK and international) as required by programmes
Desirable MBSE tools experience (DOORS, Rhapsody or RTC)
Exposure to coding or scripting, particularly Python (beneficial but not essential)
