Senior Systems Engineer SRE Golang - FinTech

Overview

In this Senior Systems Engineer role you will design and build production infrastructure while contributing to the backend codebase in Go. You will tackle complex problems across auth, security, networking and WebSockets, and push for highly available, resilient services underpinning a fast, low-cost cross-border payments platform. You will work with IaC and container orchestration to understand and optimize the systems beneath applications, aligning reliability with business outcomes. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape scalable, secure infrastructure in a mission-driven FinTech.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production infrastructure
• Contribute to the backend codebase in Go
• Address authentication, security, networking and WebSocket challenges
• Design for resilience and high availability
• Improve observability with logs, metrics and traces
• Work with Terraform and Kubernetes to manage infrastructure
• Understand and optimize underlying OS and kernel considerations
• Collaborate across teams to align system reliability with business goals

Key requirements

• Strong Go coding skills
• Experience designing reliable systems and APIs
• Understanding of underlying infrastructure and platform security
• Knowledge of networking, OS security, and application security
• Experience with observability and SRE practices (logs, metrics, traces)
• Experience with IaC; Terraform preferred
• Understanding of Kubernetes
• Knowledge of low-level programming, kernel concepts, and bare metal
• Degree with 2.1+ in a STEM discipline
