In this role you act as a trusted technical advisor shaping how customers secure identity with Okta’s Identity Platform. You’ll build compelling demos and presentations for diverse audiences, from developers to C-level executives, to maximize value. You’ll quickly uncover customer needs, translate them into practical security solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive adoption and impact. Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted technical advisor throughout the customer sales lifecycle
• Create sales presentations and product demonstrations to educate customers on securing identity
• Engage with customers to discern technical needs and tailor solutions from Okta’s Identity Platform
• Advise diverse customers on what is possible using the Identity Platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive customer success and value realization

Key requirements

• PreSales experience (e.g. Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, PreSales Consultant)
• Strong ability to communicate complex ideas on-the-fly (whiteboard demonstrations)
• Knowledge of network security protocols (OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, LDAP)
• Knowledge of Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) including lifecycle management, access reviews, RBAC, policy enforcement
• Knowledge of Privilege Access Management (PAM) concepts: least privilege, JIT, session monitoring, vaulting credentials
• Understanding of core security concerns in applications (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF)
• Familiarity with MEDDPICC sales methodology
• Experience with Large Enterprise and/or Strategic sectors
• Excellent communication and ability to convey business value to technical and non-technical audiences
• Willingness to travel and collaborate with cross-functional teams
