Director – Estimating – Aviation Sector

Overview

In this role you lead and manage accurate estimating and cost planning for major projects and programmes, with a focus on the aviation sector in the South East. You drive estimating best practice, develop regional capabilities, and steer client engagement and new business opportunities. You will mentor junior staff, interface with clients and consultants, and contribute to regional growth and knowledge management within a leading infrastructure consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead production of accurate estimates and cost plans for projects and programmes
• Promote estimating best practice across Turner & Townsend
• Support regional strategic goals and departmental objectives
• Guide and develop junior estimating staff
• Interface with clients and other consultants across project stages
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and cross-selling
• Manage staff and contribute to knowledge management
• Stay updated on developments in own technical area

Key requirements

• Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience
• Experience with estimating software packages
• Experience on major programmes and projects in the infrastructure sector
• Experience in leading and managing teams
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A cost
