Senior Highway Engineer

Overview

In this role you will take ownership of highway design projects from concept to construction within a growing London team. You’ll work with private sector clients to deliver diverse infrastructure schemes, collaborating with planners, engineers and contractors to provide integrated solutions. You’ll apply relevant standards and produce technical documentation, while supporting project management and client liaison. Responsibilities

• Deliver highway design projects from concept through to construction
• Design schemes to DMRB, Manual for Streets and local standards
• Produce drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and design documentation
• Manage Section 278 and Section 38 schemes
• Review utility diversions associated with highway works
• Apply CDM Regulations 2015 throughout delivery
• Collaborate with transport planners, engineers and technicians
• Assist with project management, programme delivery and client liaison
• Prepare fee proposals, technical submissions and tender documentation
• Support optioneering studies and road safety/active travel assessments

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• 6-9 years' highways design experience, preferably in a consultancy
• Strong knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, Section 278/38
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTrack and MicroDrainage
• Understanding of National Highways and London Borough design standards
• Membership of or working towards ICE or CIHT
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational skills for multi-project delivery
