You are a qualified lawyer joining the Litigation and Regulatory team to handle Planning Law, policy, and enforcement. You will deliver at pace while aligning with the Council’s strategic aims and objectives. Expect to provide complex legal and procedural advice to board members, elected members, and external stakeholders, steering decisions with a commercial, pragmatic perspective. The role requires exceptional communication and problem-solving as you help build a world-class city with excellent public services at its heart.

Responsibilities
Deliver a range of planning law, policy and enforcement work within the Litigation and Regulatory team
Provide complex legal and procedural advice to board members, elected members, agents and other stakeholders
Support the Council in achieving its ambitions through commercial and pragmatic guidance
Navigate political and corporate implications of decisions while maintaining high professional standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive outcomes
Key requirements
Qualified lawyer with in-depth knowledge and experience in Planning Law, policy and enforcement
Ability to provide complex legal and procedural advice to internal and external stakeholders
Commercial and pragmatic focus with awareness of political and corporate implications
Exceptional communication, negotiation, collaboration and problem-solving skills
