Join Nomura's Global Markets IT as a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and deploy a global cross‑asset trade processing platform. You will work with a London‑led, multi‑timezone team to deliver services for trade capture, persistence, and distribution, and to integrate with other GMIT systems. This role emphasizes scalable, real‑time services and collaboration with DevOps and other technology teams. You will shape how trading data flows across platforms and contribute to AI‑enabled development workflows in a dynamic financial services environment.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and deploy a global trade processing system in phased deliverables
Develop and test services for trade capture, persistence, distribution, and on-demand real-time access to other GMIT systems
Leverage DevOps services for deployment to non-production and production environments
Provide system support and maintenance (not 1st level)
Coordinate with other Global Markets technology teams to enable cross‑application capabilities
Key requirements
Ability to work effectively in a global, multi‑time‑zone team
Strong Java development skills with awareness of testing and DevOps in the development cycle
Experience with distributed messaging technologies (JMS, Apache Pulsar, or Solace)
Experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server)
Knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, and Project Reactor/Spring Webflux
Skills in JavaScript/React and/or Python (beneficial)
Awareness of AI in development workflows and integrating AI with Trade Processing (useful)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Cross‑team collaboration and cross‑functional coordination
