Site Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead the engineering and technical delivery of multiple residential groundworks schemes, ensuring accuracy, safety, and conformance with project specs. You will work closely with Site Managers and the broader team to maintain quality standards and programme delivery. The role focuses on setting out roads, drainage and infrastructure, and producing accurate site records. This is an opportunity to contribute to major Cambridge infrastructure projects within a growing contractor.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out for roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, and associated infrastructure works
• Ensure works align with drawings, specifications, and site requirements
• Produce accurate site surveys and as-built records
• Monitor and maintain QA procedures on site
• Coordinate with Site Managers and subcontractors for smooth project delivery
• Identify and resolve technical issues as they arise
• Maintain accurate site records and engineering documentation
• Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and company standards
• Assist planning and sequencing of works to meet programme requirements

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer within residential groundworks or civil engineering
• Strong understanding of roads, drainage, foundations, and infrastructure packages
• Experience using GPS and robotic total station equipment
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Good understanding of QA procedures and as-built documentation
• CSCS Card required
• Relevant Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
