In this role you drive the backend that powers SoundCloud’s media streaming at global scale. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless audio experiences for millions of users, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability. You’ll participate in architecture discussions and on-call rotations, contributing to a platform that handles immense data and traffic. Responsibilities
Build, scale and maintain backend APIs and services serving millions of users
Collaborate with Android, iOS, web, and full-stack engineers for end-to-end media experiences
Ensure performance, scalability and maintainability of services
Debug complex cross-system issues to ensure global user experience
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and roadmap planning
On-call rotation to maintain reliability and availability of systems
Key requirements
4+ years building and operating large-scale backend or distributed systems
Proficiency in Go
Hands-on experience with Terraform (IaC)
Experience with cloud-native environments (AWS or GCP)
Experience with microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and container technologies
