Senior / Principal System Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will work within Quest Global's Systems Engineering team at a client site in Luton, four days a week. You will develop system and subsystem requirements, manage interfaces, and create documentation to support the full project lifecycle. You will collaborate with product owners, the Design Authority, and engineering managers to ensure designs meet acceptance criteria and are ready for design reviews. This is an opportunity to shape high-reliability systems and grow Quest Global's system engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Generate system documentation for the project lifecycle
• Develop and refine system and subsystem requirements
• Provide requirements management on subsystems
• Own features and develop in an agile environment
• Communicate system designs to product owner, Design Authority and Engineering Manager
• Generate interface control documentation
• Create test documentation
• Support internal and external solution acceptance
• Ensure readiness for design reviews
• Interface with software and hardware teams in system engineering activities
• Support customer meetings as required
• Support technical management of subcontractors and documentation
• Contribute to growing Quest Global's system engineering capability
• Assist site lead with project and system engineering expertise

Key requirements

• Exposure to most project/product lifecycle milestones
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Experience in requirements management
• Experience in internal stakeholder management
• Experience of verification and validation activities
• Exposure to systems integration or test experience for high-reliability systems
• Experience/knowledge of requirements management in DOORS
• Experience in multi-disciplined engineering teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to generate high-quality documentation (interface docs, test specs, procedures, reports)
• Experience producing documentation and participating in design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR)
