As Client Design & Engineering Manager, you will provide strategic technical leadership across a portfolio of engineering, design and constructability activities within a high-profile infrastructure programme. You will oversee the Programme Delivery Partner’s design and engineering work to ensure technical excellence, value for money and delivery outcomes. You’ll influence technical strategy, guide decisions and ensure sustainable solutions for decades to come. Responsibilities

Provide strategic oversight of engineering, design and constructability activities
Help develop programme design strategies, processes and technical requirements
Review and accept key engineering outputs on behalf of Anglian Water
Ensure technical integrity across scope, cost and prioritisation decisions
Lead resolution of complex technical challenges and risks
Act as the technical representative in governance and external stakeholder engagement
Collaborate with regulators, environmental bodies, utility providers and strategic partners
Champion health, safety and design risk reduction across the lifecycle

Key requirements

Proven engineering leadership on major infrastructure or NSIPs
Significant technical expertise in dam engineering, river engineering or similar complex infrastructure
A relevant engineering degree
Experience managing consultancy partners and major engineering contracts
Strong stakeholder management with regulators and external partners
Ability to balance technical excellence with programme outcomes and commercial considerations
