Overview

In this role you drive growth within the UK discounter channel by managing and expanding a key customer portfolio for McCormick’s branded range and supporting own-label opportunities. You will work cross-functionally to translate strategy into sales delivery, optimize in-store and online activation, and strengthen partner relationships. The role offers visibility across the business and a path for career progression. You’ll tackle growth opportunities with data-driven insights and collaborative execution.

Responsibilities

Achieve sales and profit targets across the assigned portfolio (NSV and GP)
Oversee day-to-day account operations and commercial reporting cycles
Collaborate with Category team to uncover growth opportunities
Maximize ROI from terms investments and partner with Shopper teams for activation
Support the Channel Sales Controller in strategy design for the discounter channel
Drive distribution growth, NPD, share of space, and activation aligned to brand plans
Support own-label activities including tenders, negotiations, route-to-market, SKU selection and delivery
Contribute to and execute joint business plans with key customers
Monitor performance and take corrective actions for gaps
Lead negotiations on fiscal terms and ensure budgeted delivery
Track industry trends and competitor activity and share insights with Consumer team
Coordinate with supply chain for forecast accuracy
Build cross-functional relationships to deliver commercial plans

Key requirements

FMCG experience
Experience as a National Account Manager
Experience in discounter channel with Aldi/Lidl or B&M/Home Bargains or Farmfoods/Iceland
Experience winning new business or re-opening trading relationships
Proven ability to develop joint business plans
Experience managing cost-price increase negotiations
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
Strong commercial understanding
Confident presenter to customers and stakeholders
Strong analytical skills converting data into opportunities
Growth mindset and proactive opportunity identification
