Controls Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design electrical and control systems for composite moulding processes, program PLCs with Siemens TIA Portal, and support projects from feasibility through commissioning. You’ll work within a close-knit engineering team, gaining structured development and expanding your technical scope as you take on larger projects. On-site, you will build on your controls and electrical design capabilities and eventually hand over to customers with training and support. The opportunity combines hands-on engineering with meaningful, long-term career progression in a specialist manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and control systems for composite moulding processes
• PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal) and producing drawings/specifications
• Supporting projects end-to-end from feasibility/BOM through to commissioning and handover
• Provide technical support and training to customer engineers/operators (UK and internationally)

Key requirements

• Controls/Automation Engineer experience with PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal essential)
• A couple of years' experience in a controls / control systems role
• Full UK driving licence and passport for travel
• Siemens TIA Portal experience (essential)
