As Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will lead the NPI Development team to ensure high-quality, cost-effective new parts. You’ll collaborate with design staff to translate concepts into manufacturable products and oversee prototype builds and critical analyses (PFMEA/ DFMEA). You’ll optimise assembly layouts and tooling with Operations to support scalable production. This role sits at a market-leading electronics engineering centre with a start-up mindset, offering impact across product introduction and process improvements.
Responsibilities
Lead the NPI Development team to deliver quality, manufacturable new parts
Liaise with design staff to align concepts with manufacturing feasibility and cost targets
Oversee prototype builds and prepare supporting documentation
Actively participate in PFMEA and DFMEA processes
Collaborate with Operations to optimise assembly layouts and tooling for NPI builds
Utilise ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) to support NPI/NPD processes
Bring awareness of electronic PCB assembly techniques to improve manufacturability
Key requirements
Experience with PCBA and leading a manufacturing or production team
NPI/NPD experience in electronics assembly (PCB/cable assembly or electronics box build)
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, SAP preferred
Engineering Degree or equivalent
Awareness of electronic PCB assembly techniques beneficial
