Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will join a forward-thinking building services consultancy as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. You will work within a multidisciplinary team and apply BIM workflows to deliver integrated electrical designs from concept through to completion. You’ll design lighting and power systems using Revit MEP and AutoCAD, and support coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders. The position offers hybrid working, diverse projects, and opportunities for professional development, with a focus on delivering high-quality, coordinated designs that meet project goals.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical building services including lighting and power systems
• Produce technical specifications, calculations, and design documentation
• Develop electrical layouts using Revit MEP
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD
• Collaborate in coordinated BIM models with multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection
• Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections
• Support project delivery from concept to completion
• Mentor junior team members where appropriate

Key requirements

• Proven experience in Electrical Building Services design
• Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
• Familiarity with BIM methodologies and multidisciplinary coordination
• Expertise in lighting and power design
• Strong communication and collaborative working skills
• Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and 3D modelling would be advantageous
