Senior Civil Engineer – Renewables & Transmission & Distribution

Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer at AECOM, you will lead civil design across energy projects within Renewables & Transmission and Distribution. You’ll work across UK, Ireland, and Europe, contributing from feasibility to construction supervision. Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients and manage day-to-day project delivery within time and budget
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams
• Lead civil infrastructure design including roads, drainage, and external works
• Prepare and review calculations, designs, and specifications in line with UK standards (BS EN, Eurocodes, CDM)
• Conduct site inspections and respond to technical queries
• Produce high-quality reports (feasibility studies, inspection reports, design documentation)
• Mentor and guide junior staff

Key requirements

• BEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered status or actively working towards chartership
• Strong technical competency in civil/structural design
• Proven report writing and organisational skills
• Familiarity with National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS) or National Grid CDAE status is advantageous
