Overview

In this role you will maintain and optimise production assets at Carlsberg Britvic’s Northampton site, enabling safe, efficient and reliable operations. You’ll collaborate with engineering and production teams to drive performance improvements and reduce downtime. You will diagnose faults, perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, and apply lean practices to sustain continuous improvement. You’ll monitor asset condition and mentor apprentices, contributing to a culture of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

System optimisation with engineering teams to improve performance and reduce downtime
Mechanical & electrical maintenance: diagnose and repair faults using advanced tools
Safety & compliance: adherence to LOTO, electrical safety and environmental standards; maintain CBM records
Infrastructure support: maintain site utilities and electrical distribution systems
Team collaboration: partner with production teams and mentor apprentices
Lean practices: support 5S, Kaizen and Autonomous Maintenance initiatives
Condition monitoring: conduct vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound and other predictive maintenance
Training and mentorship: support workforce development and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain and update CBM records and CMMS entries

Key requirements

Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
Experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within FMCG, manufacturing or industrial environments
Hands-on CBM experience
Experience using CMMS systems
Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
Fluent English (written & verbal)
UK working rights
Certifications in welding, hydraulics, pneumatics or rotating machinery (advantageous)
