Cost Manager - Real Estate

Overview

In this role you guide clients and their teams on iconic Scottish projects from a cost management perspective. You collaborate with conservators, architects and engineers to secure best value for money across the project lifecycle. You’ll apply your construction knowledge to quantify, forecast and manage costs, shaping outcomes from feasibility through final accounts. This is a cross-functional, client-facing position that values collaboration and practical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Assisting on feasibility studies and drafting procurement reports
• Estimating and cost planning, including presenting final cost plans
• Tendering and procuring, managing pre-qualification stages
• Handling post-contract cost variances and change control processes
• Carrying out cost checks and valuations on larger projects in a timely, accurate manner
• Producing monthly post-contract cost reports for the client
• Inputting into value engineering activities
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Interfacing with client and other consultants at all project stages

Key requirements

• Proven track record delivering high-quality cost management / quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
• Degree or HNC level qualification
• Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
