Responsibilities
Drive sales activity from enquiry to order for structural steel projects
Develop and maintain relationships with main contractors, developers, engineers and consultants
Identify and secure new business opportunities in London and surrounding regions
Collaborate with estimating, design and delivery teams to develop buildable, competitive solutions
Prepare and present tenders, proposals and commercial submissions
Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms to maximise profitability
Manage a pipeline of live opportunities with accurate CRM reporting
Attend client meetings, pre-tender interviews and industry networking events
Key requirements
Proven experience in a sales, business development or commercial role within a structural steel fabricator
Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection processes and construction sequencing
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Experience working with estimating or tendering teams
Strong client-facing and negotiation skills with a track record of winning work
Commercial awareness focused on margins, pricing and project viability
Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated with ability to manage a busy pipeline of opportunities
